Good morning!
I talked with Gail Ring this morning about our practice of ordering Easter Lilies before Easter and we came up with Sundays where women will be in the narthex after worship so that you can place your order.  Lilies are $15 each or you can just make a donation for World Hunger.  Sundays that you can order lilies are March 14, 21 and 28.

It is good to see a few more people in worship these last couple Sundays.  As people receive their Covid shots, we are feeling more and more comfortable being in worship.  We will leave our tape of on every other pew, to help us remain as far apart as possible, helping us to reduce any risk of sharing Covid or the flu as we begin slowly to increase our numbers.  I think we need to have a formal 'tearing off of the tape' celebration when we finally decide that we don't have to sit every other pew, but we aren't there yet.  As much as we are all longing for things to get back to 'normal;' I also know that we have made it this far and I don't want us to rush things now.  After all, the lives and health of our members is what we are trying to keep safe.

As we progress through Lent, we look forward to Christ's resurrection and the celebration that comes along with that great event.  We are living in the season of Lent right now, repenting of the sins that caused Jesus to have to go to the cross.  At the same time, we already know the end of the story!  We look forward with hope, even as we repent, knowing that Jesus' resurrection has already happened.  And as children of God, we gather for worship and we exit our sanctuary to serve others.  And as we near the end of Covid quarantines and safety measures, we look forward to being a physical community once again and we are energized by that to think of our neighbor near and far who are in need.  We even get to incorporate flowers into that mission!

Zion Lutheran Church has always been an active part of the world community.

From our yearly World Mission Sunday to support of rural ministry,

from Lutheran World Relief to proving a community used furniture room

and supporting the local food bank, Zion is "a church without walls".

Our members recognize the importance of their baptisms and through worship

and regular holy communion, believe God's call to discipleship is a call to faith in action.

We invite you to worship with us.

"All are welcome in this place"
