Good Morning!

I ran in the park this morning and listened to the birds sing.  It was a wonderful morning, made even more so when I ran by a young woman whose dog was very interested in Tipsy, who ran with me.  Tipsy was also interested in trying to get to meet her dog.  When I first got Tipsy, I was worried she wouldn't get along with other dogs.  I finally figured out that the concern in my voice let her know that other dogs were cause for concern.  So she wasn't very friendly with dogs she didn't know.  When I changed my tone of voice to be excited to see other dogs and continually use the words, "Look, another friend!" she is calm about meeting other dogs.  Her hair stays put instead of raising up over her back and she acts as if she is truly interested in meeting a possible friend.   I realized that much of our interactions turn out according to our attitude.  When we look for the best in each other, we are more likely to be met with their best.  When we act suspicious or distrustful, we might not see the best of the other person.  May God help you this week to see the good in each other, especially when the 'other' looks different than you do.

Zion Lutheran Church has always been an active part of the world community.

From our yearly World Mission Sunday to support of rural ministry,

from Lutheran World Relief to proving a community used furniture room

and supporting the local food bank, Zion is "a church without walls".

Our members recognize the importance of their baptisms and through worship

and regular holy communion, believe God's call to discipleship is a call to faith in action.

We invite you to worship with us.

"All are welcome in this place"
