Welcome

Zion is a purposeful community of faith with a long history of faith fomation in Glendive.

We believe in the power of worship to create and shape our Christian lives.

We actively serve others in Glendive and around the world.

All are welcome to join us for worship.

This week at Zion:
Maundy Thursday - I will make a video for Maundy Thursday and put it on Facebook, for those who wish to help remember Jesus' last supper, the washing of the feet of the disciples and his predictions of Peter's denials of Jesus and of the one who will betray him.  I will do this video, if possible without echo, at the altar, where I will end by stripping the altar, as is the tradition for Maundy Thursday.

Good Friday - Our Good Friday worship will begin at noon and will be 30 minutes long.  This will be on the radio as well as Livestreamed.  I am so thankful for Bill and Steve, who have helped make sure that our congregation can listen to or watch our worship services.  This is supposed to be ecumenical, and I am hoping to include 1 other pastor as we worship.

Saturday Vigil - I will do a video sermon and readings for this day and put it on Facebook.  It will be much shorter than the usual Easter Vigil, which is actually the longest of the worship services!

Easter Sunday - we will meet in the parking lot for our 10 am Easter Celebration (I suggest you arrive early, to avoid a traffic jam).  There will be parking attendants at each entrance to help us park carefully and efficiently, so be watching.  They will also have bulletins with the hymns that we will be singing, if you don't have a hymnal to bring with you.  This service will include Holy Communion, so bring with you a slice of bread, grape juice and small glasses from which to drink.  If you happen to forget, or don't wish to go to the store for grape juice, we will have 50 tiny cups with lids all prepared for you, waiting near the office door of the church.  There will also be baggies with wafers.  You will be able to listen on the radio and still worship in some semblance of community.  Again, I want to thank in advance all those who will be helping me to set up this service, and also Marla who will be playing the piano outside near the door to the church.  This is going to take a lot of orchestration, and can only happen if the weather cooperates.  One special instruction - if you need to come up to the door for communion juice and wafers, please just send 1 person from your car and maintain a safe distance.  Thanks in advance!  Also, I suspect the process of leaving the parking lot will be slow, so be patient - I would hate to have Easter morning fender benders as we rush to leave worship!

Zion Lutheran Church has always been an active part of the world community.

From our yearly World Mission Sunday to support of rural ministry,

from Lutheran World Relief to proving a community used furniture room

and supporting the local food bank, Zion is "a church without walls".

Our members recognize the importance of their baptisms and through worship

and regular holy communion, believe God's call to discipleship is a call to faith in action.

We invite you to worship with us.

"All are welcome in this place"
